Hello, please help me identify the vacuum system in the pic attached, I need to build a system like that but I need to know what's it's called first.

The machine sucks up a rough substrate, removes the dust and re circulates the cleaned substrate back to its original point of origin.

Looks a bit like a cyclone to me.

Where does the dust go? Down the centre of the drum?

Thanks for your reply, see that's what I don't know, client wants this I have seen this in practice but I need to know the finer detail, how do I separate dust and substrate?

Tell us more about this application ; what industry is this application in ?

Cyclone separation efficiency is much a function of feed gas flowrate, so 2 or more banks of cyclones are used to cover wider flow ranges. Sometimes, cyclone banks are piped up in series to achieve better separation for fine solids in feed. These need to be spelled out in your requirements.

Do some research into cyclones. That will explain the theory.

Or look at any " bagless" vacuum cleaner....

Hi,
Just Google dust cyclone design
Image option will comfort you about the process.
Taking another look at your drawing, it could be roto sieve drum. Application for the separation of solid of different particles size.
Good luck
