I am looking for recommendations for liquid ring vacuum pump manufacturers. I have a new project and I am new to this technology. I'm trying to use vacuum distillation to reclaim / recycle plastic contaminated with a flammable oil.
Depending on how low you are going I would reccomend two other options. First I would say that a dry screw pump from Kinney or Bush would be less of a problem. The second option would be a eductor pump using condensate from your process as the motive fluid. Works alot like the liquid ring pump but it gives you the option of multiple stages.
A word of caution: when sizing the pipeline to a vacuum pump double the water (liquid) flow to get the correct pipe size, most people forget that the air has to move too. Using regular water flow rules at 6ft/sec will choke a vacuum pump.
Thanks All, application is vacuum distilation to remove naphtha extrusion lube from PTFE film/tape. Vessel is 600 cf and rated for 20 Torr. I'm thinking liquid ring at the moment.
