Hi All,
I am doing the dynamic simulations for the fire water system of the very big offshore plotform. I have evalauted that there is chance of high pressure surges due to column separation at sevaral high points. My question is, how can I evaluate the number vacuum breakers required and identification of their location.
I would like to know is their any guide lines available for designing of the vaccum breakers.
I really appreciate your reply.

Thank you.

RK

Valid as the concern may be with pressure surges in this firewater network, it is most likely not a good idea to introduce air into this system - there must be some other solution.
