V1R5 crashes looking for copy of V1R4 -

V14 was working fine for a year - Win XP (32bit)
Downloaded V15 - appears to install fine. Activate request come up, fill in my info.
Program started but NO acknowledgement message for activation
Immediately on starting I get an error message Draftsight Alert "Program must close - before program closes option to save your work but there is nothing to save.

Next a window pops up Rundll32.exe not found – “procedure entry point SymInitializew could not be located in DLL dbghelp.dll”. no choice but to press OK

New window Rundll - error loading ...\bin\fxcrashrpt.dll file not found.
Final message Draftsight has stopped working - report could not be sent.
From this message I have to assume no error repot is going to DS if others have the same problem they may not be getting this info.

I’ve uninstall and reinstalling, no change.
Turned everything off in Msconfig Startup (no virus, no firewall) and reinstalled, No change.
Tried the thread here about deleting AppData with reinstall.

Found a copy of R13.2 at another sight – reinstalled fine – activated No problem.

Does anyone have a copy of R14 hidden away in their download file

Hi PSAD,

I had the exact same problem, unfortunately for me I tried re-installing V14 but ended up getting the same errors. I have not been able to resolve this problem and Draftsight tech support said the fault was a windows issue and not Drafsight. Funny that given that V14 was working fine before upgrading to V15. I also have Win XP(32 bit) installed. Maybe I need to try the earlier version R13.2 like you above, if I can find a copy?

Update: I found a copy of V13.2 and installed this, I still have the same problems and am unable to start Draftsight.

Looks like I will have to return to Autocad.

I knew there was a reason I had not installed V15. Thanks for the heads up guys.

The Help for this program was created in Windows Help format, which depends on a feature that isn't included in this version of Windows.

I also installed V1R5, only using x64. I've had continual crashes since installing it. Crashes occur often, when opening files, when using commands, when saving locally or to the network. I use it for creating laser cut files exported from SW, and working with customer DWG and DXF files. This is a new problem with this version. I'm going to try reinstalling from the SW2014 dvd and see if it runs better.
