V$ model into V5R15

It's a batch submission utility.
I've never used it for V4 to V5, but my guess is that you still have to "touch" the file.
Opening a V4 file in V5, only shows you what the geometry looks like. You can't do anything with it until you place it into a V5 file, and save it as such.

a couple comments:
You can only read (or migrate) V4 space geometry to V5.
V4 drawings must be converted to .dwg before you can read them in V5.
Make sure you turn on the PROJECT 3D WIREFRAME option in Tools + Options + Drafting before you make a CATDrawing from your V5 CATPart

jackk - that't not exactly true...
V4 drawings come in as 3D in V5, when reading a .model file. You don't have to turn them to .dwg. (I get these all the time - they are tabbed as a "draft" upon read) You can actually paste them, and copy the whole thing as one view.

V4 Models can be read, manipulated, and used in V5 without migrating them!
V4 3-D Models can be used in V5 CATProducts.
V4 3-D Models can be used in V5 CATDrawings.
V4 Drawings can be viewed in V5, although you may not like the way they look.
The only reason to migrate a V4 model to V5 is if you need to change something inside of it.
That being said, you will not be able to manipulate the parts inside of the model individually. So unless you modelled your V4 stuff mono-detail (i.e. one part per model), you may need to convert the parts to V5 in order to work with them.
The Batch utility works pretty good. If you have a V4 Model with multiple solids, sets, and details, it will automatically migrate that to a CATProduct with multiple CATParts. If there is a drawing, it will also migrate that. If your drawing used AUXVIEW2, it will automatically link the new CATDrawing to the new CATProduct. If you used transparent views, they will be migrated to Isolated Views in your CATDrawing with no link to the 3-D.

The basis of this question was the fact I have received 2d wireframe part data. Not realiozing that it is possible to make 3d edges from that 2d wireframe, i needed to show the part data in what My company is giving a concept of. No I would not want to use 2d wireframe. But I have to build a rack to hold the part data in. In the case of not being able to get 3d part data, i was looking for a way to get 2d wireframe items to show up on a CATDrawing. I am sorry if I should have explained a little better. Thanks to all of you for your help

1) Do you work with assemblies? Or just detail parts? If you are working assemblies where you have multiple bodies in a single CATPart, then you really need to make the switch to mono-detail. A significant amount of V5's power is in the Assembly workbench.
2) Are you doing a Copy/Paste to a new .CATDrawing? Or using the Batch Migration tool? I would check your options, as the V4 DRAW should come into a CATDrawing.
3) That's the simplest method of migration.
The scenario we have is when working with a large number of released document that were released in V4. We are doing a new drawing of an assembly that contains some of those parts, but with no modifications other than location. It also includes new parts. So we have a new V5 Drawing that is linked to old V4 Models and new V5 Parts.
Also note: If you are working mono-detail and using .CATProducts, Aircraft Coordinates no longer matter!!!! I know that is heresy to an old v4 user, but it's really quite true. A detail part can exist at zero, and be placed into it's ships coordinates when you build the assembly.

I don't always need to show all pieces, though. The parts that are 30 don't consist of too much either. I don't always have to show all 30 parts. I then add a few dimensions, add the titleblock requested. Please ellaborate on the batch migration tool. I am not fimiliar with that term.

As for adding edges to the wireframe, I don't think you need to. Both wireframe and surfaces should appear in the drawing when you turn those options on. Look under the properties of the view, and you should see an option for showing 3D wireframe. There is also an option for "can be hidden" that allows some limited Hidden Line Removal.
