I'm trying to use the generative shape design workbench and it is my understanding that there should be an open_body branch added to the Specification Tree when you are working in this workbench, and this is where all the wireframe geometry should be placed.

I don't have an open_body, just the same structure as the part design wokbench (geometrical sets, and Part bodies)and all my wireframe geometry (in the gen design workbench) is placed in a geometrical set.

Am I missing something? Will the gen design workbench fuction properly if my wireframe geometry is in a gemetrical set like this rather than an open_body?

If it makes any difference I'm using Digital Project (Gehry Technologies) version 1, release 2, Catia Version 5.15.

geometrical set is just the new name (from R13 if I remember correctly) for open bodies. The thing to watch out for is something called "Hybrid Design". If you work with Hybrid Design then your geometrical sets can appear under your solid part bodies. This can cause you problems in some situations. I usually switch this off:

Tools -> Options -> Infrastructure -> Part Infrastructure
then disable Hybrid Design under the Part Document tab.
