Using FEADAM for Excavation? 1

I am trying to model the excavation portion of the construction of a dam. I have been able to model the Fill portions but not the excavations. I need to model a 25' deep excavation for placement of the clay core. I have read that you can use FEADAM for excavations but have yet to dertermine how.
Any help?
