Does anyone know of a freeware program that could be used to model a suspension system? I am interested in finding out the effects of changing the inward inclination of the struts, as well as changing the caster angle. I know the 'direction' of the effects, and I can come fairly close in 2d, but I was hoping I could model a suspension in 3d to get more accurate results.

thanks

I suspect FreeCAD can be made to do it. Of course in principle you can draft it in 2D.

I suspect you have a macpherson strut, in which case Suspen2, or the excellent wishbone (see the FAQ for this forum) will need some thought (at least) to bodge to get the right answer.
