Hello, I'm using V17 and have never been able to save a parts list format - as in 'Saved settings' in General tab - and then invoke it later on. Every time I pull up a parts list it always says 'ANSI' at the top. Why doesn't it show the name of the current format? How do I change formats? I see nothing about this in the Help section. Thanks!!

Settings for parts lists are usually saved in

C:\Program Files\Solid Edge V17\Program\Template\Reports

(changed to C:\Program Files\Solid Edge V19\Template\Reports at V19)

Make sure you have write permission. Check to see if other settings you've created are in DraftList.txt.

I assume you know how to create settings in the first place? Right click on a parts list, properties, do all the formatting etc you want then on the first tab type in a name and save it.

To retrieve settings, when you create the parts list up in the ribbon bar there is a pull down (after you select a view) where you can select parts list settings. (Or you can RMB click on an existing parts list, properties and select there.)

By default SE lists them by alphabetical or something order (I asked this question a while ago you may find the thread) so by default you may not get the correct settings.

I've actually created settings for the different sheet sizes that automatically position it over the title block, so depending on sheet size you need to select the correct parts list.

When you upgrade you need to manually copy your personalized file over.

Just rememembered, you actually nead to make a copy of the customized .txt file(s) and save them elsewhere before you upgrade then put them in the file on the new version.

Otherwise they may get lost.
