I am working on a project with a Freescale i.MX processor and mating power management IC (PMIC) using Linux as the OS. The PMIC provides several peripheral features to the i.MX including a 4-wire resistive controller which currently works fine. The issue I have come across is that the 4-wire panel's temperature rating is insufficient, and in order to meet the requirements, a 5-wire panel is required. The PMIC's features are heavily tied into the Kernel and OS, and unfortunately, I cannot just select a 5-wire controller IC and drop it in.

If anyone could recommend a method or IC for adapting the 5-wire interface to a 4-wire, it would be greatly appreciated.
