Dear Friends,
I have installed Ansys 15 on my system although i have Ansys13 too. It doesn't have any problem in analysis but it doen't use the maximum capacity of my cpu (at most 50% although my ansys 13 has been used 100%)
I changed cpu number to 8 in settings but the problem remains.
I want to know if the problem is because of license as someone told me so!
It should be notified that my system has a core i7 Q720 cpu with 4Gb of ram on 64bit Win7.

Kind Regards

I dont know what was ANSYS's policy in R13, but now they charge you in the license per core.
In order to use more than 2 cores, you need to purchase a HPC pack, maybe this was not the policy in R13, I dont know.

Thanks assafwei but i think i have that license!
When in Workbench i go to tools> license preferences... i can see the list which in HPC menu contains:
ANSYS HPC Pack = 1
ANSYS HPC = 1
ANSYS CFD HPC =1
ANSYS Mechanical HPC = 1
.
.
.
So What do you think?

I see your CPU has 4 cores, are you using hyperthreading?
This shouldnt be the reason, but I would try and remove hyperthreading.

Great!
Why should i disable it? and if i do so, Why i bought i7 cpu?
as far as i know, HyperThreading essentially allows a CPU to work on multiple streams of data simultaneously to improving performance and efficiency (at least 20%).
The important note is that i hadn't such problem with Ansys13 and with ansys15, the analysis time tangibly increased.
Thanks a lot.
