Awful lot of building owners in this sort of economy are looking into energy efficiency, which doesn't often generate a call to an architect. They start with consulting engineers.
If I were still in the consulting business, I'd be all over it. It's not just trendy, it's becoming a requirement...

Thanks for the input. Now that you put it in that perspective, I think I will pursue AP status. I think the USGBC changed their credentialing a bit and removed the "Existing Buildings" sub-certification and lumped it under building operations and maintenance.
I think the institutional/industrial green renovation sector will explode in a year or two-if it has not already. I see a lot with rehabbing warehouses for condos (housing market), but not much anywhere else for existing buildings. Hopefully Obama will follow through with his green jobs and improved infrastructure promises. That topic deserves its own thread.
