User Define Sketches with a Spread Sheet

Hi Guys,

We often create models using off the shelf steel sections (I-beams, channels etc). Is it possible to create user define sketch sections using a spreadsheet containing the dimensions - much like you can with Part Families?

Since you have NX 7.5, have you looked at downloading our 'Reuse Libraries' which includes standard rolled-shapes, as shown below?

Thanks John,

I was unaware of the Machinery Library. I have now installed both ANSI Inch and Metric Reuse Libraries, however I am unable to drag any sections into my model. I have tried dragging onto a plane, into a regular sketch as well as into the sketch task environment. I have also tried using the 'Insert' command from the section RMB.
I am however able to insert section from the "2D Section Library".
I have also noticed that my Library folder structure is slightly different to yours:
UDF Library -> Machinery Library->ANSI Metric.

The library itself is installed here:
C:\Program Files\UGS\Machinery Library\ANSI Metric

You drag the Rolled Shapes into your Part file. The are not sketches but an actual part which you select the desired size and it creates the part for you on the fly.
