I have my floating license of Pro/E Wildfire 2.0 installed on my Dell M70 notebook computer. The problem is, I can't launch Wildfire successfully unless the notebook is physically plugged into my (or any) router. This makes it difficult to use Wildfireon the road when I'm traveling. I have to find someones network to physically plug into (ie: A CAT5 cable must be plugged into my network card and into their router.)

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks.

Wireless network card?

We run on laptops as well and disabled the media sensing feature for TCP/IP in Windows. Go to Microsoft's web page and search for Q239924.

Hi,

Sometime ago I have written a short installation manual for a Pro/E license server.
In it you can find a detailed description about how to setup your network.
You can download it from

Thanks for the Media Sensing disabling idea. I tried this and, unfortunately, it didnot work for me. My problem must be caused by something else.

Additional info: When I launch Pro/INTRALINK, which I normally launch first and then launch Wildfire from within Pro/I, the error message I get when my network card is not plugged into the router is "Failed to take or refresh license."

Maybe the problem actually has to do with Pro/I operability... Because I just was able to launch Wildfire directly, which then invokes Pro/I and allows me to then launch Pro/I. Then I close the original session of Wildfire and then re-open a new Wildfire session from within Pro/I. There must be a better way, but at least it is a work-around for now...
