I started a work of pervaporation process modeling through UNIQUAC models. I chose the work of A. Heintz (in Journal of Membrane Science, 1994) as point of starting. In his work, It was showed experimental and theorical data (with UNIQUAC) to many binary systems included the solvents water, ethanol, methanol, and PVAc. I didn´t get to obtain the theorical data to any alcohols, just to the water / PVAc system.
I would like to ask anyone to help me to understand better the UNIQUAC application to polymer solutions. Is there any mallet or trick in the formulation to obtain good results with UNIQUAC to polymer solutions? Which objective function should be used to liquid-liquid equilibria between solvents and polymer materials? Is It better to use weight fraction instead of mole fraction in the formulation of activity calculation by UNIQUAC?

Fabiano
