Uniform Temperature Field

Hello,
I'm trying to perform a pixel linearity test on my camera, and I'd like to do it by imaging uniform temperature fields between 0 deg. C and 40 deg. C. Right now I am filling a glass fish tank with water and imaging the side. I'm trying to avoid reflection by covering it with duct tape, but the uniformity is not that great.

Is there some industry standard that I'm missing? Any suggestions?

Additionally, for uniformity testing, you want a target that is complete OUT of focus. This tends to make the target more uniform in appearance.

I would strongly suggest you abandon the fish tank. There are way too many variables, including water temperature, water convection, glass reflection, tape conductivity, etc.

Depending on what your exact needs for precison are, you could opt for (on the high end) a calibrated, traceable black body reference ($3000+) or (on the low end) simply open a thick (blank) book and image the page. It will stay uniform for quite a while (if you control the HVAC) and will typically have a very high emittance.
