Structural
Hello fellow engineers, I’m looking for guidance on how to use CP3 part V since it’s still in use in my country. I have a basic understanding of the steps, but I lack a proper understanding of how wind itself behaves. I have been met with a case of a canopy open on all 4sides that does not have obstruction beneath and my understanding is that wind when acting on this type of structure will cause an external pressure causing a downforce on the roof, yet my engineer told me that uplift will be critical. My understanding is that uplift may occur if I had obstruction beneath or had a wall on one side which may cause the wind to hit that obstruction and rise up to push against the roof.
