Hello all ,

Am designing an underpinning for a an existing two storied masonry wall building foundation , by assuming 4000 psf of allowable soil bearing pressure times the width of foundation 2 ft am getting a load of 8 klf on the foundation to be handled by my underpinning bracket and micro piles( this is the only load available in existing drawings which are 30 yrs old) , the load kinda looks high to me , is there any way to get the load down
Is there any standard consideration for the load coming from a masonry building wall on the foundation

Thank you for your suggestions

Without more information of the rest of the structure, no.

Can you calculate the actual load on the footing? IE do you know the geometry of the structure, materials/weights, and live loads? If so, you can calculate the actual load and use it as opposed to the 4 ksf
