Are you talking about ultrsonic noise generated by the bearing? A friend of mine has a patent on that. I did a few surveys with the equipment. You look at the ratio of the peak to the average noise. Most of the places I went the maintenance was so bad that all I looked at was average noise. I had to limit the report to those that would fail in the next month, not in the next year.
