Hi all, I'm playing with a new toy this week.
I am looking for some small ultrasonic sensors.
the transcever or the emitter/reciever pairs can be remote to the control circuit (if it exists).
The specifics that i am looking for is:
analog or digital feedback
useable range of 0.25" to 60"
prefer logic level supply (5vdc) but 12vdc is acceptable
transcever or emitter/reciever pair must be small. smaller the better, but no bigger than 0.5" x 0.5"

I can construct a control curcuit if that part doesn't exist. My main interest is the sensors.

Any ideas on who or where?

Hi-

I ran across this ad for a pair of transducers for
$5.49 for a pair. I haven't ordere these yet,
but plan to give them a whirl in the very near future.
I believe these are MUCH cheaper than Digikey (not that
Digikey is a bad place or anything. Don't get me wrong!)

You can point your browser to:

to see them.

Note that I have no relationship with this vendor. Haven't
used them. Don't know much about them, just that I like
the price and I'm going to be getting some.

As to the controller side of things for these critters.
There is a pdf file that is kinda interesting. I think
that it gives a good overview of the subject. You can
find it at:

It's written for picbasic, but the general flow of the
software can be easily changed to your favorite toolchain
and processor.

I'll be whomping up some stuff with these transducers in
the near future.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Rich S.

Thanks, Rich.

this is bang on. And my contoller is also a pic, so this eliminates a lot of work.

Hi Curious125

Glad to help. We are all in this together and any help
we can pass to each other is all to the good.

Let us know how your efforts come along.

I've been playing with a Z80 system that I cobbered up
an haven't had a chance yet to order the transducers.

I've been playing with a little Z80 system that I wire
wrapped up last week and it's been taking all my free
time.

All the best of luck!

Cheers,

Rich S.
