What is the ultimate shear strenght for aisi 1070 annealed to 102 brinell?

I need it to calc the press force to handle a cuting die.

Thanks.

Pardal,

From machinery's handbook

Approx relationship between Hardness & Tensile Strength

Tensile Strength = Brinell x 515 = 102 x 515 = 52,300 PSI
For Steel Shear = 0.75 x Tensile = 39,000 PSI
Hope this helps
