UL/FM Approved Fire Pump w/Mechanical Seal? 1

Could someone, please tell me can a fire pump be UL/FM approved with the mechanical seal or it has to be with packing?

Depends on the type of pump. If it is a centrifugal pump NFPA 20 has no requirements on the type of seal. If it is a positive displacement pump, NFPA 20 prohibits the use of packing and only permits either a mechanical or a lip seal.

The pump is a centrifugal horizontal split case, running at 1800RPM with an electrical motor, so if I understood it correct, it could be with a mechanical seal and UL/FM approved, right?

UL doesn't approve anything. They just test items.
