UL 142 Tanks 1

Came across two UL 142 tanks ( 650 bbls - cone roof) currently used to store slope oil. Just finished reading the UL 142 standard a didnt see anything on Lightning protection.

DO they need to have lightning protection installed (as per API RP 545) even though these are not API tanks,

Lightning protection is not prescribed by UL 142 and it's not prescribed by NFPA 30. If you do decide to install it it should be per NFPA 720 (I beleive this is the standard).
