UK SAE1045 Plate and 4140 Rod equivalents 1

Hi all,

Does anyone know what the UK equivalents are for SAE1045 Plate and SAE 4140 Rod?

4140 rod ( round bar ) is the well known 42CRMO4 (1.7225)
acc. to EN.
The BS ( British standard ) equivalent is something like 708M40.

1045 is C45 or C45E or C45R according to EN.The BS equivalent of C45E is smth like 080M46 ( this is steel for quenching and tempering ).

I think that those should be the ones you are looking for (both steels for quenching and tempering ).
