Hi,

Basically in UG-46(g)(2) mentioned that the size of the openings shall not be less than 2 in. x 3 in. so does this means the shape shall be rectangular or elliptical/obround shape? And is there any square shaped inspection openings?

Any tips and guides when it comes to design of inspection openings would be much helpful [bigsmile]

Thanks in advance

UG-46 g(2) refers to minimum size of hand holes if provided as inspection opening . Hand holes are meant for inserting the hand or arm for inspecting the surface/corrosion if any inside a vessel . It can be of any shape but usually obround/elliptical/circular...

Sq still Requires large corner radious so call it obround
