U stamp for sub-contractor

We are manufacturing a pressure vessel U stamped and we would like to sub-contract rolling and welding of shell (due to thick vessel wall).
Sub-contractor must be certified U stamp also or not ?

Yes they must also have a ASME certification mark to cover the welding. You can have them roll the shell and you weld them and no stamp would be required.
