I am writing a report, considering the variations involved in tracking a main rotor blade at the tip, or at the mid section, can anyone point me in the direction of a good diagram displaying how an MRB bends in flight? generic is fine, I realise that numbers of bending modes etc are variable.

This post certainly does not answer your question, but it is related to the subject mater.

I am looking into the feasibility of producing and Absolutely Rigid Rotor. The objective is to virtually eliminate flap and lead/lag, leaving only pitch. Theoretically, it should overcome most of the rotors main problems, such as cross-couplings etc. Practicality, may be another story.

If interested, information can be found at;

I don't have any figures, but I do have a short clip taken with a video camera showing the rotor tip fluctuation, I would be happy to share.

Whiz, am interested in your clip.
