Is it a municipal water service? If so cap at the corporation stop.

If it’s just a well cap it inside the house and abandon in place.

It is a city water line. Thank you so much for your advise !

Depends on the project. I have some lead service replacements underway. The contractor is attaching new tubing to the existing lead water piping. The contractor then pulls the new tubing through the underground route of the existing piping using the lead piping.

Thank you so much for the information. City just told me that there will be an inspection also required. It costs about $300. Does that occur to you? Thank you.

Typically when ever connecting to a public system they either have their guys do the connection or at least witness it. Don’t want a sanitary issue due to contractor negligence.

Thank you so much for the input. That makes sense and they get paid for that too.
