Hi,
I want to model a beam with a concentrated load of 60 N acting on the tip. I want the load to increase from 0 to 60 N in 0.001 seconds and again go back from 60 to 0 in another 0.01 seconds and check for the maximum stresses and deflections at that time. what kind of analysis should I carry out? should I carry out a static, general or a dynamic implicit analysis? I tried to carry out static, general analysis with load amplitude but all the stress values were zero. So I thought may be load with a varying amplitude does not work in static, general but I am not sure. Please can anyone help?? Its very urgent :(

if you want to only take into account the statics, run a static simulation.
if you want to take into account the dynamics, run a dynamic simulation.
The reason you are getting zero stress is because you are doing something wrong.
That's about all I can say with the info you provide.

This is not homework, I am running an analysis of a suddenly applied load on a beam, so that I can carry out the same analysis for a wing later.I will try to upload the input file later.
Thank you
