Hi all,
I am working on a project in a remote area with limited precast vendor options. Anyone see any problems with using a Type I manhole for a valve vault? Thinking of a 48" diameter vault to house a 24" BFV and air release valve.

not sure what a type 1 is, but 48 inch seems a bit small, unless it is for the operator and air valve only

Thanks cvg. I think you're probably right; may have to go with a 60" MH.

I assume butterfly valve

Same here... just jokin' been a slow day.

its a big, beautiful valve

You use Type 1's as catch basins for at grade inlets. They are less than 24" square.

Definitely not a Type 1.

Yes, butterfly valve, but I do like BeautiFul Valve. :)

As far as I know we call them Type I around here...
