Hi hope you can help.

I can not find in the AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules, if Two-core and earth flat cable is required to be mechanically protected.

The contractors have used this cable between the 415V AC board and 240VAC socket outlets & Sump.

I would of thought that this cable would require some form of mechanical protection.

Thanks Craig

Have a look at appendix H.

Depending on the site (i.e. mine etc), the governing body may have blanket rules (generally all cables must be protected).

Regards,
Lyle

Many manufacturer data sheets will have the proviso "for use [...] where not subject to mechanical damage". I'm not sure whether this is text from a standard, or just good sense.

Thanks for the help
