Turbocharger tension rod. How does it work ?

Anyone got a cross section sketch of this or a procedure ?

In your picture it appears they are using a hydraulic jack to push the turbine on to the shaft. It is an adaptation of the SKF OK coupling system.


A similar process is used to fit propellers on ships.


It's also possible they are tensioning the nut that retains the turbine.

That is also a SKF product.
