My company is looking at using tabbed and slotted pieces of square and rectangular tubing for frame assemblies. The use of tabs and slots allows for a simplified mockup of parts. This would be a lot like Christmas morning assemblies "Insert tab A into slot B". I am looking for any possible standards or general practices concerning the use of tabs and slots, including possible size references, etc.
