Hi, I need to design a trunnion to lift a column of about 137'-0" high. Any help would be great...

eolano,

That is an absolutely open ended question. Are you qualified to design a trunnion that lifts a 137' column?

How does a trunnion lift anything?

How is the length relevant?

Hi, I'm a CAD designer. I´m helping engineers to design a trunnion. I am not an engineer. But I like to make calculation, I'm thinking in studing engineeer soon. I'm 17 years working in the area of metalmechanical constructions. I´m new using this page. The final design would do the engineer, but I want to learn it by myself....and compare the results.

I know that in most cases you use a common lifting lug, but in this case are required trunnions due to other factor. The strength applied is so strong that try to take out the lifting lug from the wall (according to engineers). I'm a CAD designer... but I want to learn some more about.
