I have a trench that is greater than 20 ft and I am trying to provide a trench safety report that supports going deeper. Does anyone know of a document that might be helpful for this? Is there an example somewhere?

You can look also at OSHA Trenching and Excavation.

I believe that for a trench greater than 20 feet deep, you need an engineered sheeting design or a slope stability analysis both signed and stamped by a PE.
