I am looking for a way to create a rendering of a machine basically with transparent covers. I have the drawing done and it renders ok except for the fact that the transparent areas are not TOTALLY transparent. Ideally I would like tranparent faces with some highlights on the edges of the transparent areas. I want to be able to fully see through the covers while still being able to view the edges of said covers.

If I set my cover material to a transparency of 1.00 they are totally invisible. If I go to 0.99 there is too much grey in the faces.

One way I thought was too create a rendering .tif of the machine without covers and a hidden .tif of just the covers and merge the two together. I don't have good enough photo editing software to pull this off though.

Thanks in advance and I hope this all makes sense.

there is a lisp file on net where you can create transparent rendering. may be you will need to search for it.

Thanks for the response tehcs. I will try to find it.
