translation table Modbus -BACnet

Hi all
We have a PDU with Modbus RTU and project specs are requesting for BACnet. MGate 5217 was suggested as gateway but conversion process is tedious.
Do I choose the wrong one?

What do you mean by "tedious?"

I've never used BACnet but it seems like any other client/server protocol. I've used MODBUS extensively and maybe the biggest difference between the two is that BACnet employs some security features that are absent from MODBUS?

MOXA told me this:
" We do not have a raw template for this. However; we do support csv/excel changes for Modbus Configuration. You can import/export from the device itself."
Is there a gateway where you can do all off line (without the device near) and with a software than can verify if Modbus/BACnet settings are correct?
