Track Link Design for a Tracked Off Road Vehicle 1

I am mechanical engineer working on a the design of a metal dry-pin track for a off road vehicle. Does anyone know of any good technical resources for this kind of design project?

There was some interesting work done by Michigan Technological University’s Keweenaw Research Center ( on Aluminum Metal Matrix Composite Track along with the US Army TACOM. There is an overview of the original project at
The following specifications may be helpful as well:
· A A 52494 : RUBBER STOCK, UNVULCANIZED: FOR TRACK SHOES, PADS, AND PIN BUSHINGS (METRIC)
· A A 59473 : CURTAIN, TRACK, AND SUSPENSION SYSTEM, BERTH (NAVAL SHIPBOARD)
· MIL PRF 11891: TRACK SHOE SETS, TRACK SHOE ASSEMBLIES, TRACK SHOE PADS AND TRACK SHOE BUSHINGS, VEHICULAR – ELASTOMERIZED
· MIL T 45301: TREAD RUBBER, SOLID RUBBER TIRE FOR TRACK LAYING VEHICLES
· QPL 11891: TRACK SHOE ASSEMBLIES, TRACK SHOE SETS, TRACK SHOE PADS, AND TRACK SHOE BUSHINGS, VEHICULAR, ELASTOMERIZED
