Torque specs on gaskets

Does anybody have a good source for recommended torque specs for raised face flange gaskets, BUNA, Viton, and PTFE specifically?

That certainly helps for Garlock's specialty products, and I've had little trouble finding anything for product like that. I find myself at a loss for standard BUNA, Viton, and Teflon ring gaskets though, something I thought I'd be able to to easily find. I've got a request off to my supplier for this information, but haven't gotten anywhere, was hoping somebody had better luck than I.

Check Lamons gasket handbook (

then Literature). They've reprinted a table from ASME (Sec VIII Div 1, appendix... 2?) which lists seating stresses for various materials. Your materials aren't called out by name, but they fit under one of those categories.

You'll have to work from the seating stress to your target bolt torque.

If you need more info, see Section VIII Div 1's appendix on flange design, but I bet Lamons has it distilled down to a practical level. If you purchase from Lamons, I've always found their engineers to be extremely helpful over the phone especially if you bring a basic understanding to the conversation to begin with.
