I would like to use half symmetry in a FEA model to cut down on simulation time. I an applying torque to a shaft. Does the torque value need to be half as well?
Thank you!

It depends how you utilize the symmetry. Not all forms of symmetry can be used in analyses involving torque. Can you attach a picture of the model ?

This is the model.

In this case symmetry can’t be used due to the nature of loading (unless you simplify the model to apply cyclic symmetry).

Ok. Thank you for your help!
