I noticed that the flat washers in toolbox (SW2006) are created using the revolve command. Whenever I have created them I have always extruded my sketch of 2 circles. Is there a benefit to using the revolve over the extrude in this example? The 2 circle sketch and extrude seems like it would be faster.

TIA,
Drake

As far as I know, there is no benefit. It is just personal preference.

Just two different ways to create the same thing, there's really no benefit I can think of to do it one way or the other. Like you, I prefer sketching two circles and extruding as it seems more straight forward and more visibly represents the final shape. But some people think more along the revolve method I guess.

Thanks for the replies. Personal preference is what I thought and I just wanted to see if the group had a different opinion.

Consistency. The hobgoblin of a small mind. Or something like that. Many of the standard SW parts and features are done by revolving. I guess one sketch can control the entire feature might be the reason?
