I am back on solidworks after 18 months on Solidedge and glad to be back.

We are running Solidworks 2007 although soon to go to 2008. I am trying to set up a toolbox in a shared location ( on our server). The files have been copied across and it seems to be working ok. It has been set up to create configurations of the fastener parts rather than individual parts. The part files have been set to read only although the toolbox can add configs.

We use a range of fasteners in different materials ie steel, stainless and brass. Once the toolbox creates the configuration it gives it a name and leaves the material unallocated. We need to be able to create each fastener 3 times in each material. I have thought that I can create 3 copies of the files and modify the access database but this seems like alot of work. Can anyone please advise me how this could best be done.

Thank you

Check out thread559-204623, particularly the linked PDF. It should get you started.
