Hi all
Ive posted related problems to this previously and have been wrestling with a solution for a while. We are on SW2005 sp5.0 in a multiuser environment. On insertion of certain hardware the following message comes up, "The document "Socket Head Cap Screw_AI" is already opened, do you want to show this aready opened document?". Click No, and the "drag and drop fails", yes, will insert the screw but only once. If multiple insertions are necessary, the process is repeated. Also, there is no preview of the part, only an icon of a rectangle and plus sign(?).
Seems this issue is related to a specific part file(socket head cap screw) mostly, but I've seen this issue with some other hardware types. VAR has no reference to this issue.
Any similar experiences to toolbox? Thanks

I have the same problem in SW 2007, I'll be waiting for a solution as well.

have you uncovered anything related to this issue with toolbox?

I've seen this crop up when the assembly is opening a toolbox part that was copied outside the toolbox folder to some other location. Then when I tried to drag another instance of the part from the toolbox library, it gave that message cause it was already using it from a different location.

What was the fix fir thi issue? As far as I can tell, all toolbox parts are coming from the network located data base, as pathed to by toolbox.ini. Thanks

Open the assembly and use "File/References" and make sure none of the toolbox parts are loading from a different location.

In my case, the fix was to delete the offending toolbox part file that was copied to the project folder. Solidworks then loaded the version from the toolbox library and the drag insert worked fine again.

Am guess this problem doesn't affect all your toolbox parts you try to insert?

Ive checked references and in this case, I have only a single reference to the screw type(socket head cal screw_ai). Your are correct in stating this doesnt happen with all screw types.

What happens if you try to insert this part into an new assembly?
