Toolbox hardware mating

Hi all,
Inserting washers into an asssembly via drag and drop on the corresponding hole seems to generally work, adding the appropriate concentric/coincident mate. I cant do the same with screws(usually cap screws). I get a "The document "Socket head cap screw" is already opened, Do you want to show this alreadyy opened document?" message.
Yes drop the srew in space unmated, no ges=ts me "drag and drop failed". We are on SW2005 sp5.0 with network accessible toolbox. Any thoughts? Thanks

We had a user here with that problem. I think we may have it fixed. Well, it has been a bit since he said something about it.

Our toolbox is on a network server. In the C:\Program Files\SolidWorks 2006\Toolbox\toolbox.ini file, the ToolboxPartFolder entry was set to the full path of the network, i.e. \\serverName\shareName\...

In Windows Explorer, I mapped that \\serverName\shareName to a drive letter and updated the path within toolbox.ini to use that drive letter.

If you give that a try, please let me know if it fixes things.

That looks like what I was suggesting changing to. This is vaguely similar to thread559-169356. In both cases it seems like a file is getting stuck open.

It sounds to me like you have inconsistent settings between users for your browser configuration. Depending what your desired results are for part or configuration creation when you add a toolbox part there are different settings. What I would recommend is in Toolbox/Browser Configuration..select "No Copy (always use master part file)" and "Always change read only status of document before writing". Be sure those settings are selected on all users computers. Also browse to your toolbox folder on your network. Be sure every file is set to "Read Only" using the standard windows properties, The browser.mdb file that's in the same directory however should NOT be set to read only. These settings should solve your issue.

All settings are correct. I dont see the browser.mdb file however. It should be in the /Solidworks/Solidworks Data/Part Lib folder?

The filename is swbrowser.mdb and should be found in C:\Progrm Files\SolidWorks\Toolbox\data utilities\lang\English

The swbrowser.mdb is located in the above listed location by default. If you've moved your toolbox to network location and shared it however it should be located somewhere in the shared directory.

So are all the files on the server set to Read-only? You should even if they are already set. Browse to each folder and select them all per folder and change the attributes to the files. If you do it per the folder chances are they are not set. There is a bug in XP that files in the folders when told to did not set the files to read-only. You had to browse to those files and set it manually.

I went in and re checked the Read Only option for the Toolbox file folders and it appears to have fixed the problem. Life is good again.

Oops
Jumped the gun a bit.
The "fix" worked initially. Changing to a different size screw of the same type caused the "problem" to re appear. Inserting a new type screw seems to work fine. All files are set to read only?
