I'm designing a small (>.625") diameter relief valve for use in a salt water environment and need it to retain as much mechanical strength and surface finish (it will be a sealing surface via o-rings) as possible. Recommendations for a specific titanium or other material (or coatings).

Don't mate Ti to Ti, galling will kill you.
Is this cold seawater? If so a CP or low alloy grade will work.
