i was wondering if there was a way to find out when a part was created or modified within NX, matybe some kind of timestamp. i know i could right click on the actual NX part file and goto properties as you can with any file in windows but im looking for something a little more accurate.

Information -> Part -> Part History

And if you want to have even more fun, try...

Information -> Part -> Modifications...

... with the 'Criteria' set to 'At or Before', since in addition to a complete 'Part History' showing the dates and by whom the file has been saved, you can also learn about what Expressions, Features and/or Components have been edited. And by correlating the 'version' stamp for each one of these edit records with the 'Part History' record, you can easily determine when and by whom these edits were made., including what release of NX was being used at the time for each one of these events.

Another handy bit of data included in the 'Part History' is a record of any change in the part file name, as long as it was done using the 'Save As...' command from within NX.
