Tilting type Thrust Bearing for Vertical Pump and Motor

Hi All
Can any one guide me to calculate the ccoling water requirement for tilting type thrust bearing for vertical Pumps and vertical Indiction Motor ?
Is there ant thumb rule based on shaft size, RPM & Power rating ?

Weather cooling water flow rate is a function of inlet water temperature?
Even though thrust bearing manufacturers normally provide a chart for this purpose .

I am bit curious.

If Some one post a link for relevant study material , it will be great help.
