Is there a viewer which can view all Pro/E files thumbnailed ?

It would be something like the windows explorer does with graphic files..



That would be handy searching and retrieving parts...

I think ProductViewExpress, Spinfire and e-Drawings are the closest match.

Are you running any data management with your ProE? or are you just looking for something that will view the files in the file system when you open a dialog box to open a file?


I am asking because www.designdatamanager.com is a design management application that automatically creates thumbnail views of all parts and assemblies so thatif you are running a query in the database, viewing a BOM or Structure browsing,the list of results shows you a thumbnail in the first column of each row. It is very clear and very useful.


When this functionality was first introduced into the product we did some tests and within a very short time of working in the database it became clear that the users started to use the visual recognition first and then read the text information and could move around the DB alot quicker. It was an interesting test and proved to me that it was right to introduce this into the product.
