threading a split collet nose

What needs to be done to get these threads to show correctly?

This nose part is an Extrude, but I've tried using a Revolve too, with same results.

Doesn't matter if I Insert threads first or if the slitting/cuts are made first.

if the threads are placed on the 7/16 dia Extrude (or Revolve) without the slitting/cuts by Suppressing or elimating them all-together, the Cosmetic thread visually looks to be correct as it is less than the .500 dim, as would be expected for the .4 thread length callout.

but, as in the JPG, the visual appears to go well beyond the .500 dim when attempting to Insert the threads either before OR after the slitting/cuts

Split the face(s) at the end of the thread, or create a tiny step, or an end-of-thread groove 'run-out', to limit the thread texture/appearance. Each face between the slots may have to have the texture applied.

the run-out groove did it

and, each arc-segment of the end-face had to be selected as you noted.
