Hello NX community,

I would like to display the thread of a hole feature in the drawing view. I'm using 8.5 and the master-model approach. The hole is created using the Threaded Hole option, I basically would like to display the Size (M5x0.8), Tap Drill Diameter and Depth of the hole.

So far, by using "Feature Parameters" I have been able to get the tap drill, the number of holes and the depth of the hole. See the attachment. Should I use a different annotation tool to get the result I want or is there a way to modify the result I have got so far?

Thanks in advance!

Make sure that you're actually selecting the threaded hole feature.

OK thanks, I have managed to get the thread call-out in the drawing (see the attachment). I had to select it directly in the drawing view, since there was no entry in the list. Kind of strange, I would expect all the information to be displayed after selecting the feature in the list.

Anyway I have managed to kind of get the result I was hoping for, I still would have prefered to have it all in one callout but I suppose this requires making changes to the annotation template?

For NX 9.0 we have implemented is new Hole Callout function that no longer depends on the annotation template files. You have direct control over the content of the callout which is now a single annotation object, as shown below:

OK looks good, I have NX 9.0 running as well but for practical reasons I have decided to finish this project in 8.5. I heard there have been a few render/visualisation improvements in NX 9.0 as well for making high quality photorealistic rendered images, is this true? That might be another good reason to migrate this project to 9.0 ...

Yes, but you'll need a Studio license to take advantage of the 'Real time' photo-realistic functionality. Also this is one function which will definitely be helped by multiple processors, utilizing up to 8 at one time.
